My brother sent me this postcard a few years ago. I’d never thought that I would remember it but the last line really stuck with me. ‘Vacations are most important things in the world’, he wrote. So true!

This is about our latest vacation. Usually people go away from the hustle-bustle of their lives to a calmer, quieter, more serene place. We went from DC to NYC! No, not to be a tourist and see places (been there, done that), but to meet close friends, some living there, some visiting. One of them has a 6 year old, so our daughter and she had a gala time! (while we got to relax on the couch and catch up with our friends :D).

In the midst of crowded NYC Christmas, we relaxed! A good company is all we needed, perhaps. A break from routine. We realized that we don’t necessarily need to go to an exotic location or relax on a beach for a vacation (there are days when that’s needed too btw!). Surrounded with good friends, our minds were quiet in chaos.

This type of vacation is my cup of tea! Not too sweet, not too bland, just the right amount of cream, with a pinch of ginger, a relaxing couch and great company :D.
